What the near future holds. Simple Bible Truth
- Events over the next decade are unfolding as the Bible prophesied
- Malachi 4:5,6 is being fulfilled
- 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 will shortly be fulfilled
- Revelation 18:8-10 is the fulfillment
- False beliefs and prejudices will soon be gone
The future is mostly hidden. Many suggestions about the future have been made over the years and have proved false. For example, science fiction writers imagined that man would already have colonies on the moon long before today and we all know how far wrong such assertions were.
The Bible reveals instances where God explained the future in advance. For example, the Bible accurately foretold that the Babylonian kingdom would be conquered by the Medes and Persians, who in turn would be conquered by the Greeks, who in turn would be conquered by the Romans. A succession of large empires was clearly foretold in Scripture.
Mankind can know the future. God promises in the book of Amos 3:7 “and the sovereign Lord, Jehovah will not take action unless he has revealed his confidential thinking to his servants the prophets.”
“and the sovereign Lord, Jehovah will not take action unless he has revealed his confidential thinking to his servants the prophets.”Amos 3:7
In the Bible are some prophecies that are reasonably easy to evaluate and see the application. For example, the Bible foretold a period called the ‘Gentile Times’ which would begin with the fall of Jerusalem in 586 BCE and end in the year 1935 in the 20th century. That this occurred is attested to by historical events, particularly pertaining to the riders of the four horsemen of the apocalypse of the book of Revelation, as well as prophecies that Jesus gave when he pointed forward to this time period.
In the modern era there have been many individuals and organizations who have attempted to evaluate the dozens of additional prophecies contained in the Bible to try to determine the future. However, the Bible revealed that mankind would have to wait until the coming of a prophet of Jehovah as outlined in Amos chapter three and verse seven. Jehovah foretold the coming of the prophet
“I am sending to you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and fear inspiring day of Jehovah. And he will turn the hearts of fathers back towards their sons, and the heart of sons towards their fathers, so that I may not come and devastate the earth, devoting it to destruction.”Malachi 4:5,6
These words clearly show that the prophet Elijah arrives before the end comes. While there have been lots of attempts to understand Bible secrets, without Elijah the prophecies are hidden. Now with the coming of Elijah, it is possible to look at prophecies and understand them accurately. Seventy years following the end of the Gentile times [in 1935] there was the beginning of the revelations related to the prophet Elijah. With Elijah’s assistance we are pleased to outline the events below.
The prophecy that helps us to understand the future was given by the apostle Paul in the book of 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5 . We read,
“You know the times and the seasons my brothers, and you do not need anything to be written to you, for you yourselves well know that the day of Jehovah is coming as a thief in the night. Whenever it is that they are saying, peace and security. Destruction is to be instantly upon them, as the birth pains of a pregnant woman, so that they are inescapable. You brothers are not in darkness, so that the day will overtake you as a thief, you are all sons of light and sons of the day.”Apostle Paul 1 Thessalonians 5:1-5
Many attempts had been made to try to understand what the apostle Paul is referring to. It is evident that there was a reasonable amount of understanding of this point in the first century given the opening words that Paul wrote. Some have attempted to suggest that there will be a global cry of peace and security as if there will be some global breakthrough on the issue of peace and security. Various ideas have been suggested, with varying degrees of optimism.
So, the questions are, who calls for peace and security? And who is suddenly destroyed?
The clue to understanding this prophecy has already been recorded and discussed on this site. The Bible explains in the book of Revelation.
The people who call for peace and security are the leaders of the foremost proponents of Babylon. Some religious leaders have promoted ideas developed in ancient Babylon. In the book of Revelation these are pictured like a great city and like a prostitute that prostitutes herself with the nations.
These are understood to be those religious leaders who particularly support ideas drawn from Babylon. These take the lead in calling for peace and security and yet do nothing themselves to promote it. Note how quiet religious leaders have been during Covid-19 while everyone else has done the heavy lifting.
Religious leaders are keeping ideas from ancient Babylon alive and well, including the immortality of the soul, the trinity doctrine, designer gods, false prophets, worship of the cross and similar. Many additional issues were founded in Babylon such as autocratic rules and racial prejudice and the world has grown tired of the burdens that these have caused. Thus wherever these ideas may be found people will reject them. Even today across the world racial prejudice has been highlighted and rejected. Yet the scenes currently being broadcast are merely a forerunner of events yet to unfold.
On the one hand, religions call for peace and security while on the other hand, religious differences are at the root of many of the problems that exist on the world today.
We have already seen that on many occasions the leaders of the world’s religions have called for peace and security. This call for peace and security infuriates national leaders. On the one hand, religious leaders call for peace and security while on the other hand, religious differences are at the root of many of the problems that exist on the world today.
Religion infuriates people. People do not want religious contradiction. Revelation foretells that sudden destruction will occur. We note that sudden destruction is referred to in Scripture and will affect the leaders of Babylon.
“That is why in one day her plagues have come, death and mourning and famine, and she will be completely burned with fire. Jehovah God, who judged her, is strong. And the kings of the earth who committed immorality with her and lived with her in shameless luxury will weep and beat themselves in grief over her when they see the smoke of her destruction. They will stand at a great distance because of their fear of being drawn into her torment and say: ‘Too bad, too bad, you great city, Babylon you strong city, because in one hour your judgment has arrived!”Revelation 18:8-10
It is therefore clear from Revelation 18, Babylon the great, will be suddenly destroyed.
So when Paul wrote in 1 Thessalonians “You know the times and the seasons my brothers, and you do not need anything to be written to you, for you yourselves well know that the day of Jehovah is coming as a thief in the night. Whenever it is that they are saying, peace and security. Destruction is to be instantly upon them, as the birth pains of a pregnant woman, so that they are inescapable. You brothers are not in darkness, so that the day will overtake you as a thief, you are all sons of light and sons of the day.” We can see how the scriptures explain themselves.
We are very happy to have Elijah working closely with us so that we now understand this prophecy.
Peace and security is the call. This cry has been ascending and will intensify. This cry infuriates the nations. A great emphasis on peace and security will come in reply and will be followed by action. Many leaders are judged as hypocrites by humanity. On the one hand, they call for peace and security while on the other hand, it is the very differences found in religion and religious intolerance that are at the root of most of the problems on the earth. Why teach ideas from ancient Babylon when the real message of peace and love is found in the Bible?
Thus, there will be a swift attack on the realm of Babylon’s ideas identified previously.
Religious leaders had been quiet in times of crisis. For example during the worldwide crisis with Covid-19. This crisis has a time to run yet and there is no doubt this is affecting everybody in every nation and people on the face of the earth. The complete lack response in the face of this situation only emphasizes the impotency of these religious organizations.
Elijah explains that there will continue to be great emphasis on peace and security following the end of the principle supporters of Babylon’s teachings.
Having ditched, as they think they have, the main cause of problems, they will continue to see world situations decline. On the one hand men will put up monuments to peace, according to the book of Elijah while on the other hand, natural conditions will continue to deteriorate. All of this will culminate in the period foothold in the book of Daniel chapter 12, in which worldwide society will move towards secularism. The ‘religion of the world’ will essentially move towards atheism with any form of alternative religion practiced in private at home. By this point, the world will reach a period that lasts for 45 days during which any form of faith will be essentially prohibited in public.
In the face of this situation Christ returns in kingdom power.
Now turn back to Malachi and note again key phrases.
Malachi 4:5,6 reads, “I am sending to you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and fear inspiring day of Jehovah. And he will turn the hearts of fathers back towards their sons, and the heart of sons towards their fathers, so that I may not come and devastate the earth, devoting it to destruction.”
His message is to turn the hearts of fathers back toward their sons and the heart of sons back to their father so that God may not come and strike the earth, devoting it to destruction.
Revelation reveals that the demon angels, invisible to human eyes are trying to gather the nations to the war of the great day of God, the Almighty, at Armageddon. They wish to taunt God into doing something unjust…..
Revelation reveals that the demon angels, invisible to human eyes are trying to gather the nations to the war of the great day of God, the Almighty, at Armageddon. They wish to taunt God into doing something unjust at the conclusion of this time of testing. They want God to strike the earth and destroy man in some wholesale slaughter. They want to portray God as a God of war. And this even though many people do not understand the important issues that have been occurring in the earth up until this time.
But God is not unrighteous. Now is the time for true Christians to take their stand and become determined to serve God. True Christianity means following the teachings of the Christ, to live an honest and upright life, doing the right thing by your neighbor and waiting patiently on Christ return. Choosing to live a moral upright and chaste life is an indication that a person loves God. This is the true sense of the Bible passage in the sermon on the mount. Matt 5-7.
Why was this section entitled, ‘What the near future holds?’ Because you are now in the time period, just over a decade of time, leading up to Christ’s return.
It is the time for true Christians to separate themselves from group that may be classified as being supporters of Babylon the Great.
Perhaps you personally have come to realize that the idea of immortality with the soul, the trinity, designer gods, false prophets, worship of the cross, racial prejudice and rampant materialism are not for you. Perhaps you to are saddened at the way in which religions are willing to dilute God’s standards rather than uphold the high standards that God expresses in the pages of the Scriptures. Are you also disappointed at the lack of respect shown for the Bible?
Now is the time for you to follow through and take action and identify yourself as a genuine Christian.
By abandoning ideas rooted in ancient Babylon and embracing what Christ taught a person may avoid the grief that will affect those who hold onto such obviously false ideas from the time of Nimrod.
